SINGULAR has accumulated significant expertise in Information Technology through three main activities:

  • Implementation of innovative solutions in real-life projects for the Greek Public and Private sector - from transactional and data mining applications to E-commerce and Web-based applications.
  • Internal R&D projects, exploring the edge of software development practices (distributed OO technologies, CASE and meta-CASE environments, modeling methodologies and software reuse)
  • Co-funded, by the European Commission and the Greek Government, R&D and consulting projects.

SINGULAR's Business Motivation for LEVER

In an increasingly competitive software marketplace it is essential that a software firm delivers value in more efficient ways, and it is for this reason that knowledge sharing has become a key process within the Singular Group. Singular operates in more than eight countries around Europe - covering all aspects across the software chain - from development to provision of integrated IT solutions. Knowledge acquired at any part of the chain, in any location, has the potential to add value to units in other countries.

As well as being transferred in traditional ways (e-mail, face-to-face meetings) knowledge at a corporate lever has to be shared via a corporate-wide intranet installation. Singular has decided that in order to cope with shifting market demands, it needs to exploit technology in order to leverage organizational knowledge. With a corporate-wide intranet, Singular Group will have the capability to connect everyone, anywhere, at any time. The origin of that corporate-wide implementation will be the collection of knowledge initiatives that will be undertaken by different operational units and supported by the LEVER project.
